Some Quick Facts about Your Spectacles

QUESTION : If I wear cheap specs, will that make my eyes weaker or stronger?

Response : There are no enduring effects on your Optic vision, either good or bad, that will result from the wearing specs. They simply correct Visual defects as long as you wear your specs. You will, obviously, be able to see more easily whilst you are wearing your glasses.

QUESTION : I presume, that is my vision is 20/20, then there is no need for me to wear spectacles – is this correct?

Solution : Young people who are very long-sighted may use their strong near focusing muscles to see clearly at a distance and thus correct their long-sightedness. The constant use of these muscles for other than their intended function can cause eye fatigue, eye-strain, and headaches, especially while they are reading. If you wear spectacles and you have this problem, you will, both, maintain faultless vision and prevent the development of headaches.

Query : Will my vision be damaged through the use of incorrectly prescribed glasses?

Response : Poorly prescribed eyeglasses won’t cause any long term problems of vision, but it is not a good thought. You will tend to develop eyestrain from wearing poorly prescribed eyeglasses, which will tend to give you problems of dizziness and headaches.

Query : Will tinted contacts hurts my eyes?

Reply : Unlikely. Tinted lenses are designed to either provide you with a pleasing cosmetic effect or to protect your eyes from glare or sunlight.

QUESTION : Does reading damage my eyes?

Reply : Optical problems are never caused by reading or by any other visual demand. Optic problems are caused by problems within the eye and cannot be created by your actions. People who do read very often will tend to notice visual problems more readily and are therefore, more likely to visit their eye doctor. However, the reading does not cause an Visual problem.
